  37. .SH NAME
  38. .B pbs_ds_password
  39. \- set or change data service user account or its password
  40. .SH SYNOPSIS
  41. .B pbs_ds_password
  42. [-C <username>] [-r]
  43. .SH DESCRIPTION
  44. You can use this command to change the user account or account password
  45. for the data service.
  46. .B Passwords
  47. .br
  48. Blank passwords are not allowed.
  49. If you type in a password, make sure it does not contain restricted
  50. characters. The
  51. .B pbs_ds_password
  52. command generates passwords
  53. containing the following characters:
  54. 0123456789abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ!@#$%^&*()_+
  55. When creating a password manually, do not use \\ (backslash) or `
  56. (backquote). This can prevent certain commands such as pbs_server,
  57. pbs_ds_password, and printjob from functioning properly, as they rely
  58. on connecting to the database. The format is also described in "PBS
  59. Password" in the Formats chapter of the PBS Professional Reference Guide.
  60. .B Permissions
  61. On Linux, root privilege is required to use this command. On Windows,
  62. Admin privilege is required.
  63. .B Restrictions
  64. Do not run this command if failover is configured. It is important
  65. not to inadvertently start two separate instances of the data service
  66. on two machines, thus potentially corrupting the database.
  67. .br

  74. .br
  75. On Windows, the specified user account must match the PBS service
  76. account (which can be any user account.)
  77. .br
  78. This option cannot be used while the data service is running.
  79. .br
