  45. .SH DESCRIPTION
  46. Called from the pbs_connect() IFL API to authenticate a connection
  47. with the PBS server. Designed to be called internally by PBS commands
  48. and components, to be used by our IFL layer to talk to the server.

  51. cannot authenticate, it returns an error message.

  54. Can be run by any user.
  55. It's a setuid root binary so it runs as the user who requests a
  56. connection to a server but it becomes root so that it can grab a
  57. privileged port.
