  37. .SH NAME
  38. pbs_modify_resv - modify a PBS reservation
  39. .SH SYNOPSIS
  40. #include <pbs_error.h>
  41. .br
  42. #include <pbs_ifl.h>
  43. .sp
  44. .B char *pbs_modify_resv(int server_connect, char *resv_id, struct attropl *attrib, char *extend)
  45. .SH DESCRIPTION
  46. Issue a batch request to modify a reservation.
  47. .LP
  48. A
  49. .I "Modify Reservation"
  50. batch request is generated and sent to the server.
  51. The parameter
  52. .I server_connect
  53. is the socket on which we connect to the server.
  54. The parameter
  55. .I resv_id
  56. is the reservation ID.
  57. .LP
  58. The parameter
  59. .I attrib
  60. is a list of attributes to be changed.
  61. Each attribute is an
  62. .I attropl
  63. structure which is defined in pbs_ifl.h as:
  64. .sp
  65. .Ty
  66. .nf
  67. struct attrl {
  68. char *name;
  69. char *resource;
  70. char *value;
  71. struct attrl *next;
  72. enum batch_op op;
  73. };
  74. .fi
  75. .sp
  76. The
  77. .I attrib
  78. list is terminated by the first entry where
  79. .I next
  80. is a null pointer.
  81. .LP
  82. The
  83. .I name
  84. member points to a string which is the name of the attribute. The
  85. .I value
  86. member points to a string which is the value of the attribute.
  87. The attribute names are defined in pbs_ifl.h.
  88. .LP
  89. If an attribute is not named in the
  90. .I attrib
  91. array, the default action is taken. It is either assigned
  92. the default value or is not passed with the reservation. The action
  93. depends on the attribute.
  94. If
  95. .I attrib
  96. itself is a null pointer, then the default action is taken for
  97. each attribute.
  98. .LP
  99. An attribute of type ATTR_l (the letter ell) has
  100. a resource name indicated by
  101. .I resource
  102. in the
  103. .I attrl
  104. structure.
  105. All other attribute types should have a pointer to a null string for
  106. .I resource.
  107. .LP
  108. The
  109. .I op
  110. member is forced to a value of
  111. .I SET
  112. by pbs_modify_resv().
  113. .LP
  114. The parameter,
  115. .I extend,
  116. is reserved for implementation-defined extensions.
  117. .LP
  118. The return value is a character string which is the
  119. .I reservation identifier
  120. assigned to the job by the server.
  121. The space for the
  122. .I reservation identifier
  123. string is allocated by \f3pbs_modify_resv\f1()
  124. and should be released via a call to \f3free\f1()
  125. by the user when no longer needed.
  126. .SH "SEE ALSO"
  127. pbs_rsub(1B) and pbs_connect(3B)
  128. .SH DIAGNOSTICS
  129. When the batch request generated by pbs_modify_resv()
  130. function has been completed successfully by a batch server, the routine will
  131. return a pointer to a character string which is the reservation identifier of the
  132. modified reservation.
  133. Otherwise, a null pointer is returned and the error code is set in pbs_error.
