  38. .B pbs_deljob
  39. - delete a PBS batch job
  40. .SH SYNOPSIS
  41. #include <pbs_error.h>
  42. .br
  43. #include <pbs_ifl.h>
  44. .sp
  45. .B int pbs_deljob\^(\^int\ connect, char\ *job_id, char\ *extend\^)
  46. .SH DESCRIPTION
  47. Issue a batch request to delete a batch job.
  48. If the batch job is running, the execution server will send the
  49. .B SIGTERM
  50. signal followed by
  51. .B SIGKILL .
  52. .LP
  53. A
  54. .I "Delete Job"
  55. batch request is generated and sent to the server over the connection
  56. specified by
  57. .I connect
  58. which is the return value of
  59. .B pbs_connect().
  60. .LP
  61. The argument,
  62. .I job_id ,
  63. identifies which job is to be deleted. It is specified in the form:
  64. .br
  65. .RS 4
  66. .I "sequence_number.server"
  67. .RE
  68. .LP
  69. The argument,
  70. .I extend ,
  71. is overloaded to serve more than one purpose.
  72. If
  73. .I extend
  74. points to a string other than the above, it is taken as text to be appended
  75. to the message mailed to the job owner. This mailing occurs if the
  76. job is deleted by a user other than the job owner.
  77. .SH "SEE ALSO"
  78. qdel(1B) and pbs_connect(3B)

  84. Otherwise, a non zero error is returned. The error number is also set
  85. in pbs_errno.
